Welcome

The Walker Area Food Shelf is a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting individuals who are in need of food, striving to preserve dignity, extending respect, and maintaining confidentiality to all clients.  We will educate clients on other services for which they may qualify such as SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), NAPS (Supplemental Assistance Program for Seniors), and other social service programs.

HOURS OF OPERATION:

 1st, 2nd,  3rd, 5th Tuesday:  Open from 11 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

4th Tuesday of the month:  Open from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

MASK UPDATE:

Following guidance from the CDC and the state of Minnesota, the Walker Area Food Shelf will no longer require vaccinated individuals to wear masks in our building or on our grounds.  We will not monitor the vaccination status of clients or volunteers, however, unvaccinated individuals are advised to continue wearing masks and to follow social distance guidelines.

We respect that people are free to make their own decision about their health, vaccinations, and mask-wearing and we will rely on our neighbors to make decisions that keep them, and those around them, safe.

Of course, we ask that our clients or volunteers with COVID symptoms postpone any visits to the Walker Area Food Shelf until it is safe to do so.

Be kind.  Take care of each other.
